Another long lost and never before heard collection of re-mastered acetates has been turned up by the ACID JAZZ team - this time they provide another missing jigsaw piece in the ever growing mod pantheon with four songs from west London legends THE CLIQUE by tracking down THE CLIQUE'S first ever demo session, recorded at Hawkleys Studios in Hampshire on October 25, 1964 and it is this that they present for your delectation.

Managed by the legendary LARRY PAGE and well known as one of the very earliest unashamedly mod bands, THE CLIQUE shared the bill with THE HIGH NUMBERS in Brighton in august '64 and headlined over THE SMALL FACES six months later. Their hard, no-nonsense RnB was incubated in the same venues and to the same punters as THE WHO and THE BIRDS - including a classic gig at The Railway Tavern in Harrow where Keith Moon famously sat in on the set.
The tracks featured on the EP have never been previously heard but provided the impetus to secure the band's recording contract with PYE Records, who immediately re-recorded 'She Ain't No Good' and released it as THE CLIQUE'S debut single.Often (and possibly erroneously) named as the band joined by a 15-year-old Jessie Hector, this collection of early recordings gives them their own voice.

Presented in a gorgeous 1960's style lacquered sleeve, the sixth edition of this groundbreaking series is strictly limited.
